what I built
Agape Energy is an energy drink company, of which I am the CTO. It is a startup, about a year old now.
I built everything you see. The iOS, the Android, the backend, the wholesale, Shopify, admin, CFO, everything. No one else contributed.

hardest part
The hardest problem for Agape was the physical NFC cards. They were sent out prior to me having everything built, so I had to quickly build something that linked each NFC card's link to a user in a way that I could build everything on top of later.
The cards initially were ordered in bulk and blank. We wanted the experience to be high quality, integrated deeply with the app we had coming out. So we wanted a seamless experience for the user: tap their card to the app, and their account is set up. That's it.
In order to do that each card had to be linked to a user, so I had to build a flow for Tanner (who was handling the cards; I was away in Germany) to click a button, get a link, and that link be pasteable to the card, unique to that user, and stored in our backend. This button had to be idempotent and robust for edge cases like a disconnect or something, because Tanner is not technical.

what I learned
I really learned about scale, how to write good code. Mainly scale, a deep understanding of AWS infrastructure and architecture, and how to build good internal tools as well. Not consumer, but internal tools for our own team as well as enterprise teams.
